It's been awhile since I have updated the blog and so much has taken place since!
Both Sinatra Soleil and Aurelio have since gone to their new homes. They are both doing fantastic. Its very boring around HRF without them.

On a sad note, Kunstlerisch aka Sassy went to be in horsey heaven. She had coliced badly and was not able to be saved. Luckily her colt was ready to be weaned, but she was in foal to Just the Best for a 2012 foal.

October 12, 2011 Tiffany Bragg Kopp gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Kamden Robert Kopp. He was 7lbs 3 oz. The next pony rider in the making!! He already has two ponies in the barn waiting for him when he is old enough :)

Chappelle returned home from Magic Hill Farm in the beginning of December. He is going nicely under saddle. Such a great brain and so willing. He will stay in light work through the winter. He was 3rd in Zone 5 for 3 Year Old Hunter Breeding and 12th Nationally. Way to go Chappelle!

Hunter Ridge Farm has a new Broodmare that we are very excited about. Her name is Jannina. She is a Canadian Trakehner and absoluetly gorgeous. She has been shown all over and had an injury which took her out of the show ring. So she is now going to be retired as a broodmare. She will be bred this Spring to Just the Best for a 2013 foal. Such a long wait!!

SPS Felicita will be rebred to Sinatra Song for a 2012 foal as well. The first foal from this cross, Sinatra Soleil, is an absolute doll and has the movement to boot!

Chappelle at Devon 2011

In June, Chappelle made his debut at the Devon Horse Show!! He was 4th in the PA Bred Non-TB Hunter Breeding and he was 8th in the 3 Year old Non-TB Hunter Breeding. He was such a good boy, as usual!! He was handled by Emily Ann Belin of Magic Hill Farm and he is staying at her farm to be started under saddle in July.

On May 24th Felicita foaled a lovely dark bay colt by Sinatra Song. His name is Sinatra Soleil and he was sold in-utero. His new owner is so excited!! Soleil as we call him is a big boy and very curious. It is so fun to watch him and the other colt interact! Felicita was rebred to Ser Giovetto. He is black Hanoverian stallion. We find out July 5th if she took! SO fingers and toes crossed!!

The Tuscarawas Equestrian Team will be having the first meeting of the 2011-2012 show season in July and are scheduled to have a Chicken BBQ fundraiser on August 20th 2011!!

2011 Apiro Colt is here!!

On May 5th 2011 Kunstlerisch delivered a healthy Apiro Colt named Aurelio. She decided to foal while the barn was busy with activity at the decent hour of 8pm! The birth was text book perfect. Aurelio or Joey as we call him for his barn name is an awesome colt. He has the Apiro movement and brains. He is for sale and will be inspected RPSI in September 2011.

Foaling Season is Here!!!

We are patiently awaiting the arrival of the first of two foals at Hunter Ridge Farm this year. Kunslerisch is due April 30th. This will be a repeat breeding to Apiro. We are so excited to see this cross again. Felicita is due May 31st. She is bred to Sinatra Song and her foal is sold in-utero. I know Jamie is anxiously awaiting the arrival of her foal and so are we!!

We have had a great winter so far!
*Rhiannon's two to Tango has been sold. Congrats to Mallory from Ohio on your purchase of Tango. They should make a pretty cute pair together!

*SPS Felicita's in-Utero foal has been sold to Jaime from Michigan. We are as excited as she is for this foal. It should be a marvelous cross!

*Roi Soleil has been sold as well. Congrats to Casey from Ohio on your purchase of "Louis". He is a very special guy and we wish you lots of luck with him.

There has been a lot going on at Hunter Ridge Farm this spring/summer. Here are some photos of whats been happening!

Chappelle was Champion Best Young Horse at the Delaware Showtime series horse show at the end of May. He is turning out to be a very handsome boy!

Roi Soleil is now 3 months old and he is a looker! We are very excited for the Hanoverian Inspection on July 13th at Turning Point Farm in Michigan!

We also had the First Summer Day Camp in June. The girls had a good time and learned a lot about horse care.

Kunstlerisch (aka Sassy) was also confirmed in foal to Apiro for an April 2011 Foal. We are super excited to see this cross again!

Felicita will be bred to Sinatra Song for a 2011 foal as well. This foal should be a super dressage foal!

Crazy Spring So Far!

Felicitas Foal Louie!!
Felicita foaled on March 18th at 6:30 am. She waited for her owner to get here too! Louie has the cutest face marking and 4 white socks just like his momma. He is going to be something special!!

The Tuscarawas Equestrian Team had their Regional Finals Horse Show on March 6-7th at the Andrews School in Willoughby,OH. The Middle School Team were Reserve Champs again! Which qualified them to compete at the Zone Finals at Roberts Arena in Wilmington Ohio on March 27-28th. Individual qualifiers were Emily Kate, Emily Gill, Marie Newell, Elle Bichsel, Brenna Deneher, Cheyanne Shook and Whitney Kneffler! Good Luck Ladies!!!

The Tuscarawas Middle School Team was almost undefeated this year! Out of 5 shows we were Champions 4 times! Not too shabby girls!!

Both teams are qualified for Regionals and lots of the girls have qualified as well. We will be finishing up the show season in later winter and Regionals are being held March 13-14th 2010 at the Andrews School. We are hoping to make it to Nationals this year because they are being held in Georgia!!

THE TUSCARAWAS EQUESTRIAN TEAM!!

At the first IEA Show of the year, held at South Farm, the Tuscarawas Equestrian Team took Reserve Champion High School Team and Champion Middle School Team!!

Congrats to both the high school and middle school teams for taking both 3rd places at the last IEA Show at the Andrews School on October 17-18th 2009.

The RPSI inspections was a blast. It was great to see all the foals and mares. The day was beautiful and the little girls (and Doc!) showed well! Avita came home with a Gold and Alluce with Silver. Here is the youtube video links.

I would like to give a big congrats to Brenna Deneher and Emerson for earning Reserve Champion in the novice rider at the Chagrin Valley Classic horse show on July 4th 2009!! It was a great show and everyone had a good time! Cheyanne Shook and Maximum Control took a First in the equitation class for the Beginner Rider. Emily Kate and Rumor Has It placed First, Second and three thirds in the Intermediate Rider Division.

Another Congrats to Chappelle for placing Reserve Champion Best Young Horse at the Chagrin Valley Classic in the Hunter Breeding. It was his first horse show and he was fantastic!

Then at Buckeye Horse Park on July 18th 2009 we came home with lots of champs and reserve champs!
* Jen Lute and her horse Unsung were reserve champion of the Walk Trot division.
* Whitney Kneffler and Coffee came home with first seconds and thirds in the w/t/c crossrails
*Elle Bichsel and Tarry-A-Bit Apollo took Champion in the w/t crossrails horse. This was Apollo's first horse show jumping!
* Emily Kate and Rumor Has It took the Reserve Champion for the Intermediate Rider Division
* Nicole Staley and Emerson took home a first, third and two fourths in the beginner rider division.

Way to Go Everyone!!

Next up is the welsh pony show in Canfield Ohio. That should be a great time!!

Busy Summer at Hunter Ridge Farm!!

There has been a lot happening around Hunter Ridge Farm this summer! The show season has been underway and the girls of Hunter Ridge Farm are cleaning up! Our next show is July 4th at the Chagrin Valley PHA horse show. Then on July 18th we will be attending a show at Buckeye Horse Park.

Both Apiro Fillies are doing great! They have gotten so big! I would like to congratulate Jaclyn Paquet of Arizona on the purchase of Avita and Wendy Peralta of Florida on the purchase of Alluce. Kunstlerisch (Avita's dam) has already been rebred to Apiro for 2010!! We also have the hanoverian mare Felicita, owned by Stacey Markel, due in March 2010 to Royal Prince!!

Tuscarawas Equestrian Team Riders Place at the IEA National Finals!!

Cheyanne Shook (left) took home the reserve champion for the Future Beginner class at the IEA national finals held 4/30-5/3/09 at Lake Erie College. Elle Bichsel (right)took home a 5th place for the Future Novice Crossrails class. Way to go girls!!

While at the IEA Nationals both broodmares decided to foal on 4/30/09 15 minutes apart!!! Sassy and Kammy gave birth to two beautiful fillies by Apiro! More pictures to come!!

Apiro

On April 4-5th the Tuscarawas Equestrian Team competed at the IEA Zone 5 competition. It was held in Albion Michigan. We had a great time despite the cold weather! Congrats to Elle Bichsel and Cheyanne Shook for qualifying for the National Competition at Lake Erie College May 1-3rd.

We are also waiting the arrival of the first foal for the year! This foal is by Kameliendame out of Apiro! Here is a like to a foaling camera that is on Kammy!
